CUBA. I don't even know where to begin. I embarked on this wonderful journey with a couple of my girlfriends Memorial weekend. I had no idea what to expect. Actually, I thought I was going to experience another Caribbean island, and I was wrong. The authenticity of this untapped country caught me by surprise. The sights, people, smells (other than the exhaust from their vintage cars), music....everything!
I encourage anyone that travels here to learn a little Spanish and stay at a casa, or airbnb. Staying at a hotel really takes away from the experience and I truly believe you will miss out. My host, Yoan, was more than helpful and his place was beyond amazing with a view that I could wake up to for the rest of my life. I was unable to capture a lot of images due to taking it all in, but being present is the way to be. We ate wonderful food, made friends, and danced (some of us tried) the weekend away.
